Even the most ambitious habit goals can die prematurely without a habits tracker. That’s why it’s important to pull out your notebook and put up all the habits you want to build. It helps measure progress, stay true to yourself and make habits stick like glue.

2. The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins

If you want to succeed, you cannot limit yourself to doing only what you like. Mel Robbins helps bypass procrastination with a habit she calls “The 5 Second Rule.” Contrary to how it sounds, the rule is pretty straightforward.

It means that from the moment you have an instinct to act, you only have five seconds before your brain gets distracted and kills your instinct to act. Robbins suggests counting backwards – 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 – to keep your brain focused and make a physical move such as walking, writing or messaging to seal the deal.

If you’re a master at procrastinating, this rule will help jumpstart your productivity.

3. Get Hungry for Knowledge

We live in an information age where knowledge puts you ahead of the curve. From books, to podcasts, to videos and TedTalks, make use of every opportunity to gain knowledge. Best practice is to put that up on your habits tracker and review the new info you’ve gained every night.
