Why Every Blogger Should Have a Guest Blogger Strategy

The blogging ecosystem has grown, but its readership has dispersed.

Is the hyper-competition eating up the eyeballs on your posts? Chances are, you haven’t tried guest blogging yet. Or you have, but to no avail.

There’s hope for every blogger in guest blogging. It is by far one of the best free strategies to find new readers.

Here’s a simple three-step strategy to get started:

  1. Pull up a list of blogs in your niche

You can’t pitch a business post to a literary blog. Getting this list right is key. Type the keywords in your niche and pull up the blogs that appear in the first three pages of Google search results. Make sure they are accepting guest posts at the moment. Then list them out in an Excel sheet for easy reference.

2. Write authentic posts

The one-size-fits-all approach to guest blogging died eons ago. In the blogging circles, value is currency. The more value you bring to the reader, the more likely they are to stick by. Bloggers live by this mantra and are less likely to tolerate unauthentic and repetitive content.

Curate your content to fit the narrative of every blog you pitch to.

3. Reach Out

Remember, by guest blogging, you’re offering a service in return for exposure. As long as you don’t jeopardize the quality of the content you write or spam the bloggers you’re pitching your posts to, things will work out in your favor.

Keep it simple, authentic and clear.
